March Faves 2018

by

March has been a weird ol’ month with some really high highs and really low lows. Much like February, I’ve had lots of fun, boozy weekends in London celebrating birthdays and St. Patrick’s Day. But I also had to say goodbye to my family dog, Harry, this month. So there have been tears. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster if I’m honest. But I still have some good things to share with you too.

Here’s everything you need to know about my month of March, 2018.

March Faves

This month I’ve been eating… the best pancakes of my life.

Okay. This is important. I had the best pancakes of my life this month, pal. No word of a lie.

I went to London Grind for a bottomless prosecco brunch for my friends Kate and Lauren’s birthday celebrations at the start of the month. It was pretty decent as the booze was meant to flow for an hour and a half but actually went on for about FOUR hours. Yeah, it was messy.

But we also had a brunch dish included and I chose the harissa cakes. Which were okay. But my friend Ricki had pancakes and OH SWEET BABY JESUS. They were so good that we got more pancakes for the table. These bad boys were doughy and moist and bloody delicious. I’d go back just for the pancakes.

This month I’ve been celebrating… St. Patrick’s Day.

A few of us headed back to London for more weekend fun, this time for St Patrick’s Day! We actually went to an ‘Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ themed night at the Macbeth Of Hoxton. They transformed the bar into Paddy’s pub, had masks and the D.E.N.N.I.S system board and played the soundtrack including DAYMAN!

Fancy dress was encouraged and some people went all out! We opted for the more subtle attire of the Wade Boggs Challenge with white t-shirts that we marked every drink we had that night on! I made it to 12 before I had to get the last train home. So definitely nowhere near 70…

If you’ve never seen Always Sunny I take it a lot of that was gibberish. But honestly, it’s a great TV series and this was a very fun night out for fans of the show.

This month I’ve been wearing… this cosy Primark jumper.

I’ve been shopping a lot this month. I have a few summery bits I want to show you but seeing as it’s been colder than the Arctic with the Beast From The East ruining all of my outfit plans, I’ll wait until April for that. (Please be warmer, April).

But I also got a few cosy jumpers in the sale. This cobalt blue beauty is one of them and was £5 in the Primark sale. I paired it with these cool stripy trousers, also from Primark at £12.

I like this look a lot.

This month I’ve been doing… lots of yoga.

As per my New Year’s Resolutions for 2018, I’m determined to find an exercise regime I actually like. So I bought a Groupon for my local yoga studio to try out some yoga/pilates/mindfulness classes.

And I love it.

Whitespace Studio in Stony Stratford is so lovely. It always has candles and proper yoga equipment like bolsters and blocks. And the instructors are lovely. I know these are pretty normal things for a yoga studio but I’ve only ever done yoga at a gym. And it feels SO different when you can actually unwind in the relaxation part at the end, instead of hearing people next door grunting into their squats.

Totally recommend if you live in the area.

This month I’ve been reading… The Signs.

I really like Astrology. I always have. I know it’s a very out-there, new-age, woo-woo thing that tends to cause a bit of a debate when you bring it up. But I just like it, okay?

I’ve been reading The Signs book I got for Christmas (on Amazon over here) and it’s way more in-depth than I’ve ever looked into it. It shows you how to do your birth chart and explains more complex things such as rising signs and what the planets and houses mean. I bloody love it.

But maybe that’s my Libra rising sign making me so freaking airy fairy…

This month I’ve been… saying goodbye to Harry.

We had Harry since he was a pupper, so 12 years in total. And I was a teenager when we got him so he was a solid part of the family. So obviously losing him this month has been hard on all of us. I don’t want to dwell on it too much, because I get upset reading about this stuff even when I don’t know the animal. And I want this to be a happy corner of the internet. But it’s been a big part of my March. RIP Haribo.

That’s everything going on in my world in March 2018. Come back next month for Easter fun, spring fashion, a day trip to Oxford and everything else floating my boat. Can we also please pray for sunshine?
