My monthly list of all of the things floating my boat right now is here, hooray! March was all about looking forward to Summer trips, buying colourful accessories and generally being excited about it not being pitch black at 3pm. YES.
March Faves
Skinnydip Rainbow Bag
Erm first things first, can we talk about this amazing, kickass, best-thing-I’ve-ever bought rainbow bag from Skinnydip London? Yes, it’s a rainbow. That’s also a bag. And I’ve lost my shit over it. You know I’m obsessed with Skinny-dip stuff as it is and this may be the jewel in my crown. I can’t wait to take it on my NYC trip in a couple weeks!
Vintage Weigh & Pay
Kilo sales are just wonderful events. Events where you trifle through buckets and rails of vintage clothing, put what you want in your plastic bag and pay for it based on weight. Usually £15 per kilo. And it’s crazy how much awesome vintage gems you can get for mere pennies. Well I go to 2 or 3 of these events a year, but they are ALWAYS in London, which is a hour journey and an expensive train ticket for me. So imagine my delight that the Vintage Weigh & Pay decided to visit sunny Milton Keynes this month!
I spent about £60 in total but came away with 5 t-shirts, 1 dress, 1 super cool granny jumper, 2 shirts, 3 vintage handbags, 2 belts and 6 silk scarves. What a haul, right? If there’s a vintage kilo event in your area, TOTALLY go to it.
Beaches By Gray Malin
I love a good travel-based coffee table book and Beaches by Gray Malin is my new favourite. This book showcases Malin’s aerial photography, focusing on (you guessed it) beaches. Seeing them from this bird’s eye view makes it almost feel like wildlife photography, seeing a species (humans) in it’s natural habitat, you know? Plus, beach umbrellas makes really pretty patterns from above.
My Etsy Shop
Oh well it wouldn’t be right to not mention that March was also the month I launched my Etsy shop! I know I’m shameless. But in case you missed my post this month, I’ve listed 2 original travel journals of my own that you might quite like. Go check it out, yeah?
Institut Esthederm Sun Oil
So obvs I’m revving up for my Summer trips. And rather than buy everything the day before the trip, I like to plan ahead and buy my toiletries and swimwear and stuff in stages so it doesn’t take a chunk out of the ol’ pay check.
So this month I’ve been dreaming of the sunshine and banked some beaut sun care oil from Esthederm. It prevents photoaging (ain’t nobody got time for that), protects my skin and also helps with the tan, girl. And it’s a light oil instead of a heavy sun cream which is a bonus. Job done.
MK Bloggers Meet-Up: Turtle Bay
Despite being fairly obscure, it turns out there’s quite a few bloggers in Milton Keynes. This week I met up with Sophie from Sophie’s Suitcase, Jo from Girl Eats World, Sophie from As Told By Sophie, Hazel from Hazebeaulie and Emma from Essays and Wine for a post-work catch-up. We headed to Turtle Bay in the hub for sugary cocktails, spicy food and a good natter.
Dat pulled pork though.
There you have it, everything I’m loving in March 2017. Anything that you’ve been peachy keen on this month? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me @HeelsInBackpack!
