4 New Beauty Products I’m Obsessed With

by

There are some beauty products that I feel like I won’t ever change. Mac’s Fluidline eyeliner in Blacktrack isn’t going anywhere soon and The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Microdermabrasion is my all-time favourite exfoliator.

But in other areas of my beauty regime, I’m definitely keen to try new products. Like in the mascara and bronzer categories, where I’ve never really found products that just work, y’know?

Well I’ve started a new terrible habit where every time I’m in Duty Free I feel the need to treat myself. Which yeah is a fab idea when you’re only in the airport once or twice a year, because we all deserve a bit of pampering and that. But over the last few months I’ve done a fair bit of travelling. So basically I need to check myself because bitch got no money.

Here’s why.

4 New Additions To My Beauty Bag

Bare Minerals Original Foundation

I came across this Bare Minerals Original Foundation on Hannah Gale‘s blog and it sounded pretty dreamy so I thought I’d give it a go.

I’ve never really been a foundation girl at all, you see. I just feel like I missed that phase at school where everyone is orange as they experiment with skin make-up, so I generally just don’t know what I’m doing with foundation. I tend to opt for tinted moisturiser instead.

But seeing as this bad boy is light and easy to apply and doesn’t feel like you’re wearing make-up at all, it’s right up my street. I’ve been using the Bare Minerals Face Brush to apply it and definitely feel like I’ve found a winner. Would recommend, pal.

Smashbox Liquid Lipstick

Oh yeah, you know how I have a massive thing for Stila Liquid Lipsticks? I’ve moved on to a new brand’s version of this staple.

On a recent trip to Germany, Duty Free weren’t selling any Stila products and I was craving a new shade, so I decided to try out the Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in shade Baja Bound. And you know what, it’s pretty awesome.

Just like the Stila variety, it’s matte and stays on all day through eating and drinking. Plus, I really like this shade, it’s a bit different to my other lipsticks.

It’s made me very happy as I now have a whole host of Smashbox shades to explore!

Sanctuary Spa Hand Cream

You may have spied on my Insta that I decided to go all out and buy myself a Sanctuary Spa gift set on a recent trip. Just because.

I deserve some pampering, okay?

Well there were lots of fabulous products in the ‘Lost In The Moment’ gift set but a keeper has been the Sanctuary Spa Hand Cream. Maybe it’s because I work in an air-conditioned office that dries out my skin Monday to Friday, but hand cream is a daily essential for me! And this one smells delicious without leaving my hands too greasy. It’s a moisturised thumbs up.

Laura Geller Spackle Primer

Similarly to the foundation thing, I’ve never really understood Primer. Like, is it just another product the beauty industry markets at women to make more money? Bro, what even is it?

Well I’ve had a revelation. Primer is amazing.

I’ve been using this Laura Geller Spackle Primer for a few weeks and it does wonders. Again it’s really light and just feels like moisturiser. But my make-up sticks to it and stays on for longer. It also makes bronzer look more blended for some reason? I don’t know what this magic is but I’m totally pro-primer these days.
