Product Review: LARQ Self-Cleaning Water Bottle

by

Oooh look at me being an old school blogger. It’s been AGES since I’ve done a good, old-fashioned product review! But this one I was particularly excited about and thought deserved a lovely post all to itself. The babes at LARQ sent me one of their super-cool water bottles to review and I’ve never been so happy about something so basic!

But stay with me here, it’s cool, I promise.

You see, the LARQ water bottle isn’t your average water bottle. It’s pretty much from the future. I mean look at all of these awesome features:

  • It has UV-C light technology to PURIFY your water in 60 seconds.
  • It is SELF-CLEANING so is always clean and fresh!
  • It doesn’t need filters or batteries (it charges with a USB cable and lasts 1-2 months at a time) so is LOW MAINTENANCE.
  • It’s double insulated to keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot for 12 hours!

How bloody cool, ay?

Also, these days I walk the line between travel and motherhood so when I find a product that satisfies both of those areas of my life, I get quite excited about it. I mean, mums, you can keep your tea hot and don’t need to worry about washing up! And travellers, this bottle has an “Adventure Mode” to “extra purify” water from questionable sources!

So ok, that’s what it’s meant to do, but what’s the verdict of this LARQ water bottle?

Well I’ve been using my LARQ bottle for a few weeks now (I got this aqua-coloured beauty) and I actually love it. I admit, I’m not normally a filtered water kinda girl. I’m a tap water girl all the way. But now that I’ve tried this bad boy, I think I’m a convert? It just tastes… better?

And to be honest the main appeal for me was the whole self-cleaning thing. I’m terrible at remembering to clean my water bottle usually. I know it’s gross, it’s just one of those things where I’m always using it so I forget. But huzzah, the self-cleaning bottle to the rescue! I was a bit hesitant about how successful it would be, but seriously, it’s awesome. You just need to give the outside of the bottle a quick wipe every now and then.

It also just looks really cool when you give the top a press to purify the water and it has a pretty glowy light. I mean, that’s obvs not in the technical spec, but I like it!

I tried out LARQ’s classic design which can be a bit bulky, but there is also a lightweight version, without the double-walled insulation, for people on the go (I’m guessing that means the sporty set).

My only downside would be the price, it’s not your average £20 water bottle off of ASOS, y’know? It’s definitely an investment. I think for any pro-travellers, it’s a decent investment considering the water-purification abilities. It’s fancy but I think you can justify it as a travel gear expense!

I just really rate it, ok? It’s super-nerdy to be so excited about a water bottle, but here we are. It’s functional and fancy and fabulous.

And wow, how nice it is, to write a product review like it’s 2013. Maybe I’ll do a What’s In My Handbag next? Or a list of my favourite lipglosses? Weirder things have happened in 2020.

Head on over to my Instagram for regular updates on my travels, millennial motherhood and life in general.

Total Blogger Transparency: The LARQ water bottle was a complimentary press sample for review, but all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. I wouldn’t play you like that, shorty.
