The Festival On A Cruise: I’m Going To ANCHORED!

If you’ve been following my monthly newsletters (sign up here if you haven’t already), then you’ll know all about my summer trips this year. But I’ve kept a couple on the DL and now I can finally tell you all about one of them! I’m going to ANCHORED! The world’s first festival on a cruise ship…

I know right.

What is ANCHORED 2017?

You read that right, pal. ANCHORED is a cruise around the Mediterranean stopping at beautiful Instagrammable destinations, but with a twist. You see, the top deck of this Royal Carribbean cruise will be transformed into a daily glam pool party showcasing a killer list of DJs and Artists including the likes of Tinie Tempah, DJ Charlesy and Artful Dodger. (14 year old me is psyched about that last one).

It’s a pretty crazy combination if you think about it. I mean I’ve always liked the idea of a cruise, getting to visit several countries in one trip, but instead of having to endure flights or overland buses you just chill with a cocktail looking out at sea. That’s the dream right there. But to be totally honest, I kinda thought I was too young for cruises, you know?

Enter ANCHORED.

The Destinations

So let’s start with the most important thing – where is this fabulous cruise heading? Well for starters it’s departing from Rome and I can’t tell you HOW excited I am about going back to Italy. EATS ALL THE PASTA.

Next up on the agenda is gorgeous Santorini! If you follow me on Twitter you might remember me making a bold statement at the beginning of the year, that this was the year I was going to visit Santorini. I didn’t know how or when but lo and behold my dreams have come true. I’m super excited for exploring black sand beaches, going wine tasting, discovering hot springs and hiking volcanoes! Plus Instagramming every white house with a blue roof I set my eyes upon, obvs.

Another Greek island, the next destination on the itinerary is Mykonos. This will be a stop for partying and water sports but I’m not so much into the water-based activities… so I think I shall be soaking up historical Greek architecture and ancient ruins instead!

Lastly the ship stops in the South of France offering the choice to explore Cannes or Monte Carlo! I’ve visited this area of France before but any excuse to drink french wine and look at the fancy cars, am I right?

It’s a pretty epic line-up of destinations and I can’t wait!!

The Parties

So here’s the part that makes this cruise special, the parties! Every day is a glam pool party on the top deck with live music, world reknown DJ’s, dancers, entertainers and a proper festival vibe. Then every night is more awesome nightlife with a full-scale production. Sounds pretty sick right?

I’ve already mentioned the acts I’m looking forward to but there’s also lots of other people I’m not cool enough to know. But I’m VERY excited about it nonetheless. Oh and there are still artists be announced!

And what’s also pretty neat is that there will be a beach party in Mykonos when we dock as well as at one of the local clubs. So you get a change of scenery if you’re keen to continue the party!

The Cruise Ship

But just like any festival, I really like the fact that if you’re not feeling a full-on night of partying, there’s so much more you can do.

SO MUCH.

I’m super keen to eat at all of the amazing restaurants on-board, play mini-golf, try out the rock-climbing wall, visit the theatre and check out the open-air cinema… It looks like a lot of fun! (Wait, didn’t I say I was too young for a cruise…)

So anyway, I think I’ll have a nice balance on this trip, from letting my hair down at the pool parties on the top deck, to taking it easy in the spa jacuzzi. Oh yeah, did I mention there’s also a spa? CAN’T WAIT.

Get Involved

Anyways, I wanted to let you guys know about it because it’s a pretty cool concept and this is the first ever time anything like this has happened. I’m really interested to see how it works to be honest. Like will everyone be too hungover to get off the ship when it docks? Is the endless supply of alcohol going to mean a crazier party or will everyone peak too soon? Will people like Tinie Tempah actually be staying on the ship and hanging out in the Casino? I don’t know about you, but I really wanna find out haha!
