Calling all bloggers! I’ve got a little tip for you today.
Well I’ll let you into a secret first, I’m big on being proactive as a blogger. I mean sure, once you’re big enough, the brands come to you. But you’ve got to put yourself out there initially to get the ball rolling.
So I make it a habit to sign up for as many ‘Influencer Platforms’ out there as I can. What I mean by this is those websites that connect bloggers or social influencers with brands that want to work with them. There’s tonnes of them. And I’m on all of them, I swear.
But I’ve had differing results to be honest. Some you never hear from again, some bombard you with collaborations that make no sense at all (why would I want to promote nappies when I’m a travel blogger? And childless?), but very now and then you get a gem.
And it turns out Webfluential has worked out pretty well for me.
First of all, they help you create a Media Kit if you’re new to the biz. And when you sync up all of your stats, there are some pretty cool charts you can check out.
Clearly I’m all about Instagram!
But my fave is their ‘Invite and Earn’ tool. Kind of like when you recommend someone to join your phone network and then the network pays you when your pals sign up? You get the picture.
Anyway I thought it was pretty neat as a way to monetise my blog and tried it out, just to test it. I put one tweet up on @HeelsInBackpack and got 4 sign-ups straight off the bat. 4 sign-ups from a tweet which has a lifespan of 5 minutes on my followers’ news feeds these days. Who knew right?
Anyway I figured I’d tell you guys about it, I know I have fellow bloggers out there that would be interested! If you fancy taking a gander and maybe signing up to this swell tool, check it out here at Webfluential.
For my non-blogger pals, soz about the blogger interruption, buddy, I’ll get back to talking about backpacking and travel fashion and stuff, ASAP Rocky.
Have you used Webfluential? What did you think? let me know in the comments below!
