My Italy Trip in Gelato

by

I Heart Gelato

Hands up, I totally admit it. This is a shameless way to brag about all of the gelato I ate in Italy. I’m just going to cut to the chase, here’s the kickass Gelaterias and their awesome flavours I tried out…

Nuovo Eden Bar Gelateria – Monterosso

My first taste of gelato in Italy was 2 scoops in a cone by the sea in Cinque Terre. What could be more perfect? I went for a scoop of Mint and a scoop of Cookies & Cream. Brilliant.

Gelateria Pinguino – Levanto

Gelateria Pinguino
This was one of my faves! I tried Limoncello flavour which was so tangy and had a kick. As well as Mixed Berries which was so fruity. This is why ice cream can’t beat gelato. You can’t get this kind of fruitiness with ice cream!

La Planoia Caffetteria – Manarola

Best packaging of all the gelato tastings with its candy striped cup! I went for Mint Choc Chip and Hazelnut, so lovely! And again I enjoyed it by the sea in Cinque Terre!

Caffe Fiorenza Gelateria – Florence

Caffe Fiorenza Gelateria
This is one of the flashy Gelaterias, nothing like the wholesome ones in Levanto or Cinque Terre. A lot more impressive to look at. I tried 2 more flavours, Walnut and Chocolate! Although I dropped my spoon on the floor a few mins later and had to steal one from a competing gelateria… It was awesome once I could actually eat it!

Carapina Gelato – Florence

Carapina

I discovered this one as it was recommended on the Girl In Florence blog, and I had to test it out. I went for Rum & Raisin which was delicious but I think I ordered badly. There was just too many to choose from! A cool place though, more boutique and chic than a regular Gelateria. Worth checking out!
