So I know I gave you guys a bit of a sneak peek in the August Monthly Roundup, but I have VERY exciting plans this week! I’m heading to BESTIVAL!
That’s right, the boutique music festival on the Isle of Wight will be my haven for 4 nights of fun and frolics! I’ve always wanted to go to Bestival as it is considered one of the more alternative and quirky of the festival set, with a new fancy dress theme every year. This year is ‘Summer Of Love’! Think the psychedelic sixties, an onslaught of heart-printed ensembles, or a mash-up of the two! (Cue outfit dramas.)
The headliners this year are Duran Duran, Missy Elliot and The Chemical Brothers. I caught The Chemical Brothers at Glastonbury a few months ago, but I’m super excited to see Duran Duran and relive my teen years with a bit of Missy. Also excited to see Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Slaves and Ella Eyre!
But my fave thing about festivals is the other weird and wonderful activities and events that you can get involved in. For example where else in the world can you go to a talk on Feminism, partake in a spot of Karauke (Karaoke with ukeleles), hang out with a llama for a bit, do a little Reggaerobics then chill out in a hot-tub at the end of the day?
And of course, I’m always all over the food. Better yet, my favourite food vendor from Glastonbury is there! I will be heading straight to Le Rac Shack for that Raclette cheese goodness for sure.
Here’s My Bestival line-up…
Looks pretty sick, right? But that’s not all that is exciting about this trip.
.
I’m going there to stay at STA Travel’s hostel!
.
You heard me, the backpacking giants that are STA Travel are creating an on-site hostel to house some lucky competition winners for the long weekend, as well as a couple of bloggers to document the fun. And I’m one of them!
.
So what’s this hostel all about? Well, there will be a lounge area screening films, an outside area with an STA double decker bus, a stage with DJs and bands as well as various workshops and activities to get involved in! Throw in a welcome BBQ, morning yoga sessions and daily bacon sarnies to cure the hangover, and it sounds like an absolute dream!
.
Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it?
.
So now onto the important stuff, what am I going to pack?! Well there will definitely be some tweaks to my
Ultimate Glastonbury Packing List I posted back in June. Bestival is pretty much the last UK festival of the summer so the weather will be a little cooler. I’m thinking layers with vintage sweatshirts and shirts to pair up with my denim shorts. And I might bring some tights and leggings along too.
.
Although it’s looking like the sun is actually going to be out this week though so I can finally debut my new sunnies from Quay Australia! I bloody love this brand, but I went for a style a bit less out-there this time round! This is the Arlie style and I totally heart them.
.
For the ‘Summer Of Love‘ theme, I’ve found a floral mini-dress that fits the bill for a thrifty £6 from a charity shop! I love bargains like that. Stay tuned for the photos.
.
Finally, I’m packing the festival essentials such as anti-bacterial gel, dry shampoo and face glitter! I’m also trying out BeeGood’s Cleansing Water, because it doesn’t require water and it’s pretty much the last BeeGood product I haven’t tried! Throw in my favourite Stila lipstick and a mirror and I’m good to go!
.
To say I’m excited is an understatement.
.
But don’t worry, I will be keeping you in the loop on
social media across the weekend so you can follow my Bestival adventures! Stay tuned for all of my photos and festival stories!
