What’s In My Travel Make-Up Bag?

by

Your travel make-up bag should have everything you need but in the least number of products possible. You want to look good and feel like yourself on your trip, but let’s face it you’re limited on backpack space and there are more important things to pack.

So IMO it should be your everyday make-up routine, plus a few extras to make you feel like you’ve made an effort if you’re partying in Rio or going to a nice restaurant in Singapore. It’s not rocket science, but I figured I’d throw together a quick post just showing you my favourite products for my travels.

Everyday Make-up

Garnier BB Cream

When you’re in hot climates, foundation is an absolute bitch. It’s suffocating and melts and doesn’t go with the colour of your tanned skin. BB cream blends right in, has SPF and feels real light on your skin. This one from Garnier is my babe.

Barry M Brow Kit

I’ve tried a LOT of eyebrow products but this Barry M brow kit is one of the best. It has a wax to tame your stray hairs, a powder to fill them in and even a pair of tweezers. No-one wants a monobrow, right?

Billion Dollar Brows Duo Pencil

After drawing on my brows, I always make em pop with a smudge of highlighter across my brow bone. There is actually a powder that does this in the Brow Kit above but I’m not a fan. This BDB beaut is one of my faves and also has a concealer on the other end just in case.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

I’m really slutty with mascara. I’m not loyal to any brand I just pick them up and put them down as I like. The flavour of the month atm is the Clinique High Impact Mascara. It does the job, you know?

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I mean assuming my travels give me a nice tan, bronzer isn’t exactly necessary. But if there’s any wisdom Kim Kardashian has given to the world it’s that a little bit of contouring goes a long way.

Going Out Make-Up

Mac Fluidline Eyeliner

I have a love affair with this Mac eyeliner and have been using it for at least a decade. True story. And a slick of this bad boy for some nice lil’ cat eyes is the perfect thing to make me feel a bit dressier without loads of products.

Benefit Shy Beam Highlighter

There’s nothing that adds an extra somethin’ somethin’ to my everyday make-up routine than a lick of highlighter. I really like this one by Benefit as it’s quite matte and not too in-your-face shimmery. Plus it looks SICK with a tan.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

This is my all-time favourite lipstick! It’s really pigmented and literally stays on all day, through eating and drinking. This means it lasts a long time on my travels as I’m not constantly reapplying! My fave shades are Tesoro and Fiery.

Travel Make-up

There you have it! 8 products for a low-key make-up bag to take on your travels. Enough to make you feel like yourself and a little bit dressed up on occasion, but it’s not overboard.

Any make-up products you would recommend to take on your travels?

  1. For my black eyes I use a foundation that is like a lipstick! Specially for when you are limited in your 100ml rule.
