January & February Faves 2017

by

Ugh I’m the worst at these Faves posts. I write them, I forget to take the photos and then oh look, it’s the next month. Blogger problems, am I right? Anyway, I thought what the hell let’s just post Jan and Feb Faves all together in one post. YOLO.

January Faves

For most people, January is the living worst. Everyone’s broke and on a diet and has the post-Christmas blues, roll on Spring right? But for me, it’s my birthday month. So that means birthday trips (Barcelona wut wuutttt), more meals and nights out and getting more fabulous presents! No blues for me, my friend!

So what have I been crushing on? Here’s my list of favourite things from January 2017.

La La Land

I finally got around to seeing the award-winning musical, La La Land, at the cinema in Jan. And OH WOW. I’m obsessed. I love old musical movies like Singing In The Rain and this film has the exact same vibe. It’s beautiful and heartwarming and I laughed and I cried and if you haven’t seen it already, you really need to.

Plus, if you didn’t already love Ryan Gosling like crazy, wait until you see him tap dance and play jazz piano. Oh baby.

Jo Malone’s New Fragrance

Yay I’m a totally basic blogger and crushing on the new Myrrh and Tonka cologne by Jo Malone. You’ve likely seen this beautiful black bottle of deliciousness all over your Instagram because every blogger ever is in love with it.

I really love scents that have more of a deep, spicy and almost masculine vibe, and this fragrance is just spot on. It’s also from the ‘Cologne Intense’ range so you only need one little spritz to smell amazing. Plus that means it lasts forever. Absolute perfume goals.

Capture Your Style

I got so many awesome books for Christmas and my birthday. Amazingness like World Of Wanderlust by Brooke Saward, Best in Travel 2017 by Lonely Planet, A Journey in Style by Elizabeth Walker and Ctrl, Alt, Delete by Emma Gannon. But one of my favourites was Capture Your Style by Aimee Song, a book all about Instagram and how to take the most amazing photos.

Despite thinking I knew all there was to know about growing my Insta account and taking great photos, I learnt a lot from this book. Things like editing apps I hadn’t heard of and the perfect angle for outfit shots. And now I’m obsessed with following Aimee’s Song Of Style Insta account. On point.

Superdry Jacket

Talking of Instagram, if you’ve been following me lately you will notice that I am wearing a fabulous jacket in all of my Barcelona photos. This navy, wool beaut with a borg collar is from Superdry and kept me toasty on my city break getaway. Plus I think it’s in-keeping with the denim-jacket-borg-collar trend but being a lil different, you know? I’m a fan.

Tea Time

Typical Brit, I love a good cup of tea. And clearly my friends know that because I got TWO teapots over the Christmas/Birthday period! And I love them both. One is a panda Tea For One set from Topshop that is SUCH a cutey and the other is a vintage-inspired teapot for when I have company. Plus a whole load of different flavoured teas.

All this tea is making me real happy when it’s so cold and miserable in the UK right now. Roll on Spring am I right?

February Faves 2017

February! I’m not going to lie, I’ve been too busy having fun gallivanting around London to have discovered many cool new things this month. But there’s still a few things that have caught my eye…

Bobbi Brown Remedies

I’ll admit, when these Bobbi Brown Remedies arrived, I didn’t really know what to do with them. Like I know what I’m doing with cleansers and moisturisers but little vials of liquids with pipettes as applicators? Now what?

Well it’s not that complicated. Each of the bottles are designed for a different skin problem area and you just add 2-3 drops to your skin before bed. This is meant to be part of your ‘night time skincare ritual’. But for me that just means taking my make up off 70% of the time…

Either way, I like that you can layer up different bottles as I have combination skin which always makes it so hard to choose the right products. And also that they’re so small so they’re perfect for travel to rejuvenate my skin post a long-haul flight. Nice one.

Beautiful Notebooks

Something about Spring being imminent makes me super organised. And being organised means I feel the need to invest in multiple beautiful notebooks. I don’t need them, I admit it. Who ever really needs more than one notebook? But I love them.

Cheap European Flights

Oh gahd, how can I resist booking flights when they’re so damn cheap. I’m not sure if anyone else has the compulsive need to check Skyscanner 2-3 times a day to see where they could jet off to at any given moment, but I’m bloody obsessed. Honestly, go have a look now, choose ‘Everywhere’ as your destination and ‘Cheapest Month’ as the date. You’re welcome. Or you know, sorry you’re not going to do any work today.

Adorable Red ASOS Flats

My main squeeze Samantha bought me these delicious red ASOS flats for my birthday and I adore them.  Granted it’s far too cold to wear them yet, even though I’ve made a couple of attempts, but when it warms up expect to see these bad boys all over my Insta. Just saying.

These are all of the things floating my boat in 2017 so far. What’s been getting you through the last couple of months, ay?
